Yarnold reveals she is pregnant
Britain’s greatest Winter Olympian Lizzy Yarnold has revealed she is expecting her first child.
The multiple skeleton champion and former Maidstone Grammar for Girls pupil retired last month.
Announcing her pregnancy she joked she would have to switch to the luge, which involves competitors sliding down slopes on their back. Ms Yarnold, 30, wrote her name into the history books when she claimed her second Winter Olympic gold medal in the skeleton in Pyeongchang this year, becoming the first British athlete to retain a title, having won the same event in Sochi in 2014. Yarnold, born in Sevenoaks, married engineer James Roche in 2016, who co-designed her sled while working for McLaren Applied Technologies.
