Duo tar­get Christ­mas num­ber one

A mu­si­cal duo are look­ing to join the likes of Mariah Carey and The Pogues in Christ­mas folk­lore after creat­ing their own sea­sonal track - aim­ing for num­ber one in the charts in the process.

Den­nis Pot­ter from Rochester and Sue Plum­mer from Maid­stone, pic­tured right, have teamed up to cre­ate Santa’s Grate Christ­mas, which tells the story of Fa­ther Christ­mas be­com­ing stuck in the chim­ney, but not be­ing able to con­tact his rein­deer for help be­cause there is no wi-fi.

Dr Plum­mer, who is cam­pus di­rec­tor for Can­ter­bury Christ Church Univer­sity’s Med­way Cam­pus said: “We’ve spo­ken to a lot of peo­ple and they’ve told us it’s time for a new Christ­mas song - I think we’ve man­aged to find that bal­ance be­tween be­ing both tra­di­tional and mod­ern.”
