5ive bad boys with the power to rock a park

90s popstars to headline county’s biggest Jubilee party

Boyband 5ive will be topping the bill at a Maidstone park when the Together Festival returns in June.

Organisers are calling it Kent’s Biggest Jubilee Celebratio­n. Admission will be free for NHS staff and key workers. A spokesman said: “Together Festival will be bringing the community together once again with free tickets for NHS staff and key workers.

“Tickets will start at just £5 for non-key workers. We are planning to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee in style.”

Also booked to perform are 2017 X Factor winners Rak-su, Shola Ama, Big Brovas and Queen tribute act Magic Queen. The spokesman added: “It will feature performanc­es from fan favourites from the decades, tribute acts and local bands.”

The festival is on Friday, June 3, from 1pm to 10pm. It will take place in Mote Park, in Maidstone.

More acts are expected to be

announced in the coming weeks. 5ive were one of the biggest bands in the ‘90s, landing several chart-topping hits nationwide and subsequent­ly gaining millions of fans in the process. The band was formed in 1997 by the same people who managed the Spice Girls and the

line up included Sean Conlon, Ritchie Neville, Scott Robinson, Abz Love and Jason “J” Brown. After re-forming several times over the years, the current line up is a trio of Sean Conlon, Ritchie Neville and Scott Robinson. The band have sold more than 10 million records worldwide,

with some of their biggest hits including Slam Dunk (Da Funk) - released in 1997, Keep on Movin’ from 1999 and Let’s Dance released in 2001.
