Debut delight for Stewart

A first-time parkrunner took the honours for the second successive week at Mote Park’s parkrun.

Daniel Stewart won in 19min39sec, second place going to Mote Runners’ Tom Sweet in a personal-best of 20.23 while first-time visitor Rob Minton (21.27) was third. Leading lady was Charlotte Young in 23.30, Anna Parkinson was second and Anne Crawford (25.12) third. Leading age-graded performer was Keith Dean, who finished fifth overall in 22.05, to record 71.40% with 148 runners taking part. First-time visitor James Campbell was first home at Maidstone’s event in 18.01, closely followed by Matthew Field (18.07) and Joseph Green in a new best of 18.09. Leading lady was Harriette Woolley (18.59), ahead of Charlotte Johnstone (21.42) and Rebecca Watson (22.47). Dave Moorekite (MV8084) was the top age-graded runner with a score of 84.49% after finishing 93rd overall in 26.13 from the 304 runners taking part.

Malling’s event was won by Martin Kober in a personalbe­st time of 17.50.

First-time visitor Kevin McNally (19.00) was second and third-placed Ian Reid (19.11) got the top age-graded score of 79.41% from a field of 293.

The ladies were led home by Emily Hale in 19.52, with Claire Hutchings finishing in 22.15 and Claire Lowe third with 22.52.

Mote Runners were out in force as Tracey Dennis and Dave Grunfield took on the Cambridge Harriers 10-mile Cross-Country race.

Ann Selby, Jan Mallyon, Maria Walsh, Ben and Lucy Smith ran the five-mile event and Hanka EichlerGre­gory, Nigel Groves, Dave Walsh, Jen Mcleod, Suzanne Warburton, Marc Lewis, Monika Joliffe, Alan Probert, and John Constable took on the 10-mile race at Sunday’s Bedgebury Forest 10 and 5 Mile.

Sharon Benton and Toni Carter participat­ed in the London Winter Run 10k.
