Record books rewritten
Maidstone Swimming Club enjoyed the most successful Kent County Swimming Championships in the club’s history.
Swimmers achieved personalbest times, broke Kent records and some even became Kent champions over the course of three weekends at the London Aquatics Centre and Crawley’s K2 venue.
After strong performances under the direction of head coach Claire White, the club finished third in the points table and fifth overall in the medal table with 20 golds, 18 silvers and 22 bronze medals.
Hannah Murphy and Marcus Richards both became junior Kent champions, Murphy in the 50m and 100m freestyle races and Richards in the 200m backstroke event.
Olivia Quiller also broke three Kent age records in the 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke competitions, as well as achieving two Kent County Championships event-best performances in the 100m and 200m breaststroke. Maidstone’s swimmers were
