House sells for bigger price
A three-bedroom house in need of improvement in Gillingham was snapped up at auction for more than £20,000 above the guide price.
The property at Balmoral Road went under the hammer with Clive Emson. The bay-fronted house benefited from its location near the High Street and the railway station.
Auctioneer Ben Snelling said: “The enthusiasm among bidders for this property highlighted the state of the market.
“There were investors as well as builders and owneroccupiers who helped raise the price to £165,000.
“Buy-to-let landlords are firing up the market that is strong in any event.”
