It’s time to say a fond farewell to the Snowdogs of Ashford this weekend

There's the chance to say an emotional farewell to the Ashford Snowdogs this week. The 35 colourful painted statues of Raymond Brigg’s Snowdogs - and 19 smaller Snowpups - have been delighting visitors to the town since September. They’ve been part of an art trail around the town which has captured people’s imaginations and brought them their own following on Twitter.

However, this weekend is the last before they are auctioned to raise funds for the Pilgrims Hospice. You can see them together at the Julie Rose Stadium in the town on Saturday, December 1 and Sunday, December 2, when they will be under starters’ orders on the running track, and will be available for selfies.

They will then be auctioned on Monday, December 3 at Ashford International Hotel in an event led by TV auctioneer Michael Hogben and Alison Chapman.

To bid in the auction go to ashfordsnowdogs.co.uk
