Hell’s Kitchen chefs to pay tribute to friend

-

A DOZEN businessmen will be staging their own version of TV show Hell’s Kitchen in Charing to raise money for charity.

The challenge will take place at the Peony Chinese restaurant, Maidstone Road, in memory of former colleague Stuart Lorne, who died from cancer in February.

Mr Lorne was a member of the “Dirty Dozen”, who took part in last year’s event at the Honeymoon Chinese restaurant in Tenterden, which raised more than £10,000 for charities, including Unicef and the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund.

This year’s event will have two teams, led by brothers Mel and Andrew Streek from Mardenbased bathroom distributors Claygate, cook up dishes for guests who will vote to decide the winner. During the course of the evening there will also be a raffle and an auction.

The fundraiser, called the Return of Hell’s Kitchen, will be raising money for Cancer Research UK and Macmillan Cancer Support this year.

It will take place at the restaurant on Thursday, May 3.
