BALL LANE SIXES: JACKSON’S LATE WINNER CLINCHES POINTS

-

AMIGHTY Average maintained their 100% record with a 2-1 over Misfits United. Misfits defended well with Almighty having the majority of the possession and chances. Almighty opened the scoring thanks to Lee Fishlock but Misfits replied through a good finish from David Durkin. Misfits tried to hold onto the draw and fine goalkeeping from Matt Scott looked to have earned them a share of the spoils. But up popped Dan Jackson in the last minute to win the game for Almighty. Real Ale Madrid beat Appledore 1-0 thanks to a Liam French goal. Green Street got their first win of the season when they beat Wizard Sleeves 5-0. All five goals were scored by Matt Neaves. In the final game, champions Queens Head and Nemesix fought out a goalless draw. Goalkeepers Rob Lowe and Terry Harwood were both in good form. The previous week, Jermaine Williams scored a hat-trick to help Almighty Average beat Green Street 6-0. Lee Fishlock (2) and Dan Jackson were also on target. Meanwhile, Misfits beat Appledore 2-0. Kallum Handy opened the scoring and a second from Matt Reeve secured the points. Nemesix pulled off a 7-0 win over new side Wizard Sleeves thanks to goals from Matt Boulden (3), Rob Lowe (2), Adam Cash and John Wells. Queens Head bounced back from their defeat a week earlier with a 5-0 win over Real Ale Madrid. A Matt Beasley double and goals from Mark Godfrey, James Standen and Shaun Campfield fired Queens to victory. Ben Harden and Paul Mabb both scored twice for the leaders. That result allowed them to take advantage of a slip by second-placed Southloco, who could only manage a goalless draw against McDonalds. Meanwhile, Charlie McKenzie scored for Volunteer in their 1-1 draw with Misfitts. Jamie Ades netted in reply. Crafty Five beat Aldington 1-0 in the division’s other game. Division 1 leaders Gunners remain top after they won 4-1 against Sutton Saints. Meanwhile, Ryan Prior netted five goals as second-placed Yamum beat Rejects 6-0. Homebull shared the points with Stour Centre in a 2-2 draw. Elsewhere, Spartans took maximum points thanks to a 2-0 win against Libyans. Dan Penfold and Shaun Hardwick were on target.
