Mark makes de­but at Ed­in­burgh Fringe

A stand up co­me­dian who grew up in Sellindge is mak­ing his Ed­in­burgh Fringe de­but this sum­mer.

Mark Sim­mons, who spe­cialises in one lin­ers, has been sup­port­ing TV reg­u­lar Seann Walsh on his na­tional tour and last year came run­ner-up in the Le­ices­ter Mer­cury Co­me­dian of the Year com­pe­ti­tion. He be­gan his ca­reer at open mic nights in Kent in 2008 and now per­forms at com­edy clubs across the coun­try. The pro­mo­tional ma­te­rial for Mark’s show con­tains this plea for au­di­ence mem­bers: “Last time he was in Ed­in­burgh he got mugged. Good news: they got put away. Bad news: they’re prob­a­bly out now and his stupid face is plas­tered all over town say­ing where he’ll be and when. Please come – they’re less likely to at­tack in a crowd.”

Mark will per­form his one-hour show at Just the Tonic at The Mash House on Thurs­day, July 31 and on dates through­out Au­gust.
