Mark makes debut at Edinburgh Fringe

-

A stand up comedian who grew up in Sellindge is making his Edinburgh Fringe debut this summer.

Mark Simmons, who specialises in one liners, has been supporting TV regular Seann Walsh on his national tour and last year came runner-up in the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year competition. He began his career at open mic nights in Kent in 2008 and now performs at comedy clubs across the country. The promotional material for Mark’s show contains this plea for audience members: “Last time he was in Edinburgh he got mugged. Good news: they got put away. Bad news: they’re probably out now and his stupid face is plastered all over town saying where he’ll be and when. Please come – they’re less likely to attack in a crowd.”

Mark will perform his one-hour show at Just the Tonic at The Mash House on Thursday, July 31 and on dates throughout August.
