What is the best thing about the town? I think its’ the Designer Outlet, it’s a place for younger people but I enjoy browsing the shops. What would you say to a visitor to encourage them to come to Ashford? The countryside surrounding Ashford is lovely, as well as surrounding towns such as Canterbury. What are your favourite shops, bars and restaurants in Ashford? I don’t drink, but Cafe Express in the High Street is a good place to eat. What is the best tourist attraction in the town? The museum in the churchyard. Where is your one favourite place in Ashford? My home. What makes Ashford stand out from other towns? I don’t think it does stand out from other towns. What has changed about Ashford most over the years? The ring road being built through town and shared space.

They also moved the market from the town which was on a Tuesday and Saturday.

The town was heaving when the market was on. It’s a shame it has been moved to Orbital Park. What needs improving in the town? The pavement in the High Street is dangerous, and recently there has been a lot of cases of older people falling over.

The town looks lovely in the summer with brightly coloured trees, but in the autumn and winter, the leaves are on the ground and come into the shop making the floor very slippery and hazardous when it’s raining. Could you see yourself living in Ashford for the rest of your life? Probably. Do you feel proud to live in Ashford? Not particularly.
