Leaders keep up perfect record

ASHFORD & DISTRICT SUNDAY LEAGUE: MARKET HOTEL CONTINUE CHARGE AT THE TOP OF THE PREMIER DIVISION WITH ANOTHER WIN Premier Division

Steve Harris, Ryan Smith and Steve Ward netted as leaders Market Hotel maintained their 100% winning start with a 3-2 victory over Brewmaster.

Gary Clarke got both for Brewmaster.

The victory keeps Hotel three points clear of Hamstreet at the top.

Lee McRobert scored twice for his new side, Mersham Sports, as they beat bottom club Iden Park 5-4.

Sports led 4-0 at half-time, before Iden hit back to level, only to concede the fifth late on.

Ollie Crux, Ewan Stanley and Dan Wanstall were Mersham’s other scorers, while Andy Crouch (2) Joe Charlton and Steve Lee came close to earning Iden a point.

In a thrilling finale, Aldington player-manager Chris Howells grabbed his side a point with a last-kick-of-the-game equaliser in a 1-1 draw at Marsh Athletic.

Substitute Danny Dolan had scored what looked like a 90th minute winner, only for Howells to convert Chris Cryers’s knock down in the dying seconds. Lloyd Dehara made it 2-2, before Walder got the winner with his second goal.

Stanhope Rangers and Troggs drew 3-3, Tom Collins, Jack Griffin and Anthony Finch netted for Rangers, while Michael Harvey (2) and Richard Moon were on target for Troggs.

Paul Martin’s 10th goal of the season clinched Albion a 2-0 victory over Charing Sunday. Matt Coghlan had earlier put the home side in front to inflict Charing’s third defeat in six games. with Liam Sheldon Smith and Luke Burdon on target for the visitors.

Sandgate missed out on going top after being held to a 2-2 draw against Charing Sunday Reserves.

Strikes by Adam Boxer and Gary Hunsley seemed to have earned the Folkestone side victory but Steve Tanner and Ross Prebble earned the Charing side a point.

Ryan Ford took his tally to six in three games as bottom side Bromley Green came from 2-0 down to gain a point at unbeaten Shepway Spartans.

Top scorer Charlie Warlosz added to Josh Gibson’s opener for Spartans.

Dan Anderson and Matt Tillson clinched Marsh Athletic Reserves’ 2-1 win at Prince Albert as they moved fourth, three points behind leaders Willesboro­ugh. Jake Andrews got Albert’s reply.

James Bible got Givaudan’s winner at Burton Grove as the works side bounced back from four straight defeats to earn an important 1-0 win.

James Ross made his 300th appearance for much-changed Grove side.

Matt Jackson and Andy Hill were both on target as new-boys Lolzors became the first side to take points off Pilgrims, with efforts by Luke Ponsford and Aiden Bourne.

Park Farm Rangers ended their losing run with a deserved 2-2 draw at Troggs Reserves.

Alex Markwick and Simon Puxted both scored as Rangers ended a run of four straight defeats. Dan Shearing and Ben Forbes were on target for the Smarden men.

Tom Bates, Mike Lockyer and an own-goal helped Stour Valley beat hosts Aldington 3-2. Kevin Ruane and Pete Tosland netted for the villagers.

Brad Godden and Aaron Slann clinched Appledore’s 2-1 win at bottom side Mersham Sports. Luke Goddard got the reply.
