Godinton House is getting ready to stage its 11th annual summer sculpture show.
The exhibition will be staged in the gardens of the historic mansion in Godinton Lane, off the A20 heading from the Drovers roundabout towards Charing, on the outskirts of Ashford.
The show runs from Saturday July 25 until Sunday August 16, with the gardens open daily from 1pm until 6pm.
The show organisers say the colourful borders of Godinton’s gardens will provide the perfect backdrop for the high-quality artwork being put on display at the annual sculpture show.
A number of artists have been asked to exhibit their work
Exhibits will include the shining mosaic work of Sarah Bourne, the bright floral ceramics of Renee Kilburn, and extraordinary organic forms by Jeanette Cook.
Altogether there will be pieces by 17 artists working in ceramics, steel, glass and wood, as well as the hugely popular recycled bicycles of Daren Greenhow.
The sculpture i s spread throughout 12 acres of beautiful gardens, making the show a wonderful treasure trail that even young children will enjoy exploring.
All of the work is for sale, with a scale to suit the stately home or cottage courtyard.
Visitors will also be able enjoy a cup of tea and a piece of cake or ice cream while mulling over a possible purchase in Godinton House’s newly improved stables.
The house is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with the first house tour on those days at 1.30pm.
Admission is £5 for adults for the garden and £9 for the house and garden. Children under 16 go free.
