Submarine Aquatics has it all for the fish fanatics

- By Samantha Williams

A new shop dubbed a fish-keeper’s paradise has opened in Challock.

Submarine Aquatics, which sells tropical, marine and freshwater fish as well as a range of equipment, launched on Saturday at The Old Farm Shop in Faversham Road.

The new centre, which was purpose built, follows on from the opening of Submarine Aquatics’ first branch at Johnson’s Garden Centre in Chestfield, Whitstable last year.

Manager Jason Starling said “We are very proud of what we have created so far and were thrilled by the response on our opening weekend.

“We had a great mix of people and the children especially loved the vast tanks of fish and our colourful ‘fishy fact’ parking bay signs.”

The store has both tropical and marine departments, fully stocked with corals and plants along with the necessary equip- ment to create and maintain a healthy and happy ecosystem.

An outdoor pond department will also open in the next few weeks, stocking goldfish, koi carp and accessories.

Mr Starling added: “We have a dedicated and knowledgeable team of staff that has a wealth of aquatics experience and can advise from the novice looking to keep their very first tank to the more dedicated fish-keeper looking for a specific fish or product.

“They are all keen fish-keepers and are passionate about the hobby.”

Submarine Aquatics is open 9am–5.30pm Monday to Saturday and 10am–4pm on Sundays.

A grand opening will be held on Saturday, July 25, which will involve activities planned for families and fish keepers as well as in-store offers.

Free parking is available outside the store.

Customers are also invited to join the Submarine Aquatics Club, which gives you 10% off your first purchases.
