A “perfick” day is anticipated at the annual Darling Buds of May Classic Car Show on Sunday.
The event, now in its 20th year, is at Buss Farm, Bethersden, where the popular TV show Darling Buds of May was filmed in the early 1990s.
There will be more than 900 classic cars and vehicles on display, with star billing going to the yellow Rolls-Royce used in the TV series by Pop Larkin, played by Sir David Jason.
Other attractions include a supercar display, vintage fair, arts and crafts and an autojumble. For children, there will be Punch & Judy and rides.
The day is in aid of the Kent air ambulance and Demelza House Children’s Hospice.
Last year, £13,348 was raised, which brought the total since the show started up to £103,788.
Sir David is patron of the Association of Air Ambulances.
He said: “I’m delighted that the Darling Buds of May is remembered in this way and for such a worthy cause. I have very special memories of the wonderful television show set in such a lovely part of the country.
“We had a lot of fun making it and I hope that all the visitors to the car show also have fun and enjoy the surroundings as I did.”
Visitors will get the chance to meet the air ambulance crew and win a new car worth £15,000 in a raffle to celebrate the charity’s silver jubilee.
The red 1.2 Mini One threedoor hatchback will be at the show, where there will also be a visit from the air ambulance between noon and 3pm, subject to callouts.
Tickets for the Win a Mini raffle cost £5 and can also be bought at www.raffle.me.uk. The draw will take place on Tuesday, December 15. Entrance to the show is £15 per car, including all the occupants. For bikes and pedestrians it is £5 for adults and £3 for children and pensioners.
