Goals flow for Colts

Ashford Under-12 Colts came from behind to beat Faversham Strike Force 6-1 in the East Kent Youth League Division 1 thanks to goals from Dylan Dawes (3), Alfie Prior (2) and Jamie Betts. Man-of-the-match was Harry Sikirwayi. United’s under-13s beat Kennington Juniors 4-2, courtesy of goals from Jay Goddard (2), Alex Longmore and Alex Rouet. Player-of-thematch was Moses Epulani. The under-12 reserves also started off with a win, defeatng last season’s champions Courtside Sonics, 5-2. Freddie Grist (2), Liam Daly, Miles Mason and Ewoma Arporehe were their scorers. South Ashford are looking for players to join their East Kent Youth League Under-15 team. Training takes place every Tuesday from 6-7pm at Ashford Town’s Homelands Stadium, Ashford Road, Kingsnorth, with matches on Sunday afternoons. Ashford & District Youth League returned on Saturday. Last season’s Under-14 Cup finalists resumed their rivalry in the Under-15 Division, with Park Farm Rangers winning 2-0 against Wye Juniors. There were also wins for Kennington, New Romney and Smeeth & Brabourne. In the Under-14 Division, Bromley Green continued their winning ways from last season. There were also victories for Biddenden, New Romney and Smeeth & Brabourne Under-13 new boys Willesboro­ugh Athletic Youth started in winning fashion, along with Headcorn , Mersham and Park Farm Rangers. Ashford United Juniors edged Ashford Courtside Sonics 5-3. Grasshoppe­rs, Mersham and Dawes Hernhill Herons also won.
