Take a walk for air ambulance

-

Residents across the district are invited to put on their hiking boots and take part in a charity walk.

Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance provide people from every walk of life with vital airborne aid every year.

In 2016, the charity has teamed up with the KM Charity Team to promote the KM Charity Walk and to elevate their fundraising.

Bridget Pepper, of Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance, said: “We are delighted to have joined forces with KM for this fantastic event. It provides people across the county with the perfect way to support the vital and lifesaving service we supply.”

Booking is now open for the Specsavers and Gullands- supported walk which celebrates its 21st anniversary on Sunday, June 26.

Walkers can choose a five or 10 mile trek which leads them from Grade II Georgian mansion Mote House to Leeds Castle, Maidstone.

A garden party complete with live music and a barbecue will welcome participants upon return.

All entrants will also be presented with a limited edition medal and goody bag for their efforts.

Sophie Wallace, events manager at the KM Charity Team, said: “In 2015, 400 walkers took part and raised a staggering £20,000 for good causes. We aim to build on this success in June and look forward to seeing plenty of new faces as well as returning ones.”

Booking is charged at £11.50 per adult and children under 16 go free. Walkers are encouraged to gain sponsorship for their ramble.
