Catwalk schoolgirl wins spot in modelling final
A 15-year-old schoolgirl hopes to make a big impression on the catwalk after making it to the grand final of a modelling competition.
Rheanna Barber, from Kingsnorth, was among the 4,000 entrants to the Top Model UK competition, and has been listed as one of 160 finalists.
She first got into fashion and the stepping down the catwalk when she was involved in a modelling and fashion show at Homewood School in Tenterden.
Now she is looking forward to the final in April where she has been entered into the editorial category, which is for models in magazines and photography.
Mum Juliet Barber said: “We’re all really proud of her, she has done fantastically well, especially considering the fact she is still doing her GCSEs.
“She has been to catwalk at the London fashion show, she isn’t thinking too much of a career in modelling, she is focussing on her exams and A-levels.
“When these finals came up she didn’t know whether or carry on with it, but she has decided to go for it.”
Rheanna is hoping to study A-levels in business, German, English literature and sociology once she completes her GCSEs.
Mrs Barber added: “Rheanna is definitely the tallest in our family and in her class. She is 6ft 2ins and is taller than her older brother Daniel. She is catching everybody up.”
According to Top Model UK it is the ninth annual competition to be held, with the grand finals to take place at the Hilton Lon-
