The only way is up for Tiny-K after BBC rap

-

An Ashford rap artist is making waves in the UK grime scene after featuring in a freestyle broadcast by hip-hop star and BBC Radio 1 DJ Charlie Sloth.

Jordan ‘Tiny-K’ Peck, from Kennington, travelled to the BBC’s Broadcasting House last week to take part in the Fire In the Streets internet show.

Jordan, 20, said: “Charlie Sloth is the guy at the top when it comes to UK rap and to know that he and his team are supporting what I do and helping me put it out there is phenomenal.

“The reaction I received from the film crew and Charlie Sloth’s team was amazing and the feeling was crazy!

“I was really nervous at the start, knowing they film all of the top people within the grime scene, but their reaction made me feel better.”

Jordan started rapping with his older brothers when he was just 11. It became his passion and the railway worker believes the rap scene kept him out of trouble at a difficult time in his life.

He said: “It is crazy this is all happening. Only a few years ago I was homeless, sofa-surfing and getting in all sorts of trouble and now things have turned around massively.

“Now I’m focused. It is honestly my passion and I feel so blessed to have some recognition for it.

Tiny-K is working on his next album with Ashford producer reCKo, which will be out later this year.
