Photographer’s edgy images of sea life
Artist Liz Garnett will be taking part in next month’s South East Open Studios with other members of Ashford Visual Artists.
They will be showing off their work in a barn near High Halden near Ashford.
Liz is an art photographer specialising in manipulating film negatives to create edgy contemporary images.
Her work has been sold and exhibited internationally and has been featured in local and national magazines.
Colour and texture play an important role in her images and inspiration is drawn from architecture, shapes and patterns. Her photography is concerned with strong graphic composition with the majori- tyof her fine art images being abstract or semi-abstract.
Films are chosen for their qualities such as colour saturation, grain or monochrome. She says the fun aspect of her work is playing around with processes and the end results are almost always a surprise.
In addition to her photography Liz will be exhibiting her tapestry portraits.
The studio is at Straw Barn Amaltheus, Plurenden Road, High Halden, which will be open on various dates between June 3 and 19.
