Awards for pupils’ green schemes

-

The inaugural KM Green School Awards are just around the corner and time is running out for Ashford schools to submit their schemes.

Designed to help school children become more knowledgeable about our environment, the awards congratulate processes aimed at protecting and preserving it by encouraged eco-friendly behaviour.

The awards will showcase best practice across three core categories: energy conservation, nature conservation and recycling.

Schemes should link to schools to some degree; perhaps with the original idea being generated by a school but then carried out in pupils’ homes, or in a wider community effort.

All schemes must be submitted by midnight this Sunday, and entries will be judged by our expert panel. All winning submissions will be presented at a celebratory awards evening staged at the Rowhill Grange Hotel & Utopia Spa in June.

Simon Dolby, chief executive of the KM Charity Team which organises the awards, said: “We are extremely excited about the very first Green School Awards and are keen to see as many nominations as possible. Our charity is devoted to green travel and environmental preservation, so this is an initiative we are most passionate about.”

The KM Green School Awards are supported by Golding Vision (Part of Golding Homes) and Loop CR.
