New venture aims to ease tensions of everyday life

-

A young physiotherapist is delighted to have opened her own practice.

Molash-based Sammy Clark, who has been easing people’s aches and pains since qualifying initially in Swedish massage in 2007, recently opened her new venture called Body Balance at St Augustine’s Priory, Bilsington.

The services she offer are available to both sports people and armchair pundits alike, and are aimed at easing the aches and pains of everyday tensions.

A further qualification in sports massage in 2011 prompted a move to Bristol where she studied with an NHS team who were establishing courses with Physio Impulse, the l eading West Country practice that specialises in chiropractic, podiatry and physiotherapy techniques.

She has undertaken extensive studies to identify and treat muscular skeletal issues, trained in manipulation at the Marylebone Osteopathic School and regularly makes use of strapping and taping to enhance her treatment skills.

Sammy has recently qualified in medical acupuncture, a treatment she believes helps alleviate not just everyday muscle strains and pains, but can be used as part of regular treatments for manifestations of MS, rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalga.

She said: “I’ve always strived to adopt an adaptable and flexible approach to injuries. Utilising various treatments helps focus on the whole body and ensures problems are managed in such a way that other issues don’t arise in consequence.”

She has a growing list of clients, who include athletes and horse riders.
