Parish council says consent would be ‘perverse’

-

In a statement on the application Charing Parish Council (CPC) said the site has “a 15-year-long, convoluted and very troubling history”.

CPC adds that it would be “perverse” if ABC granted permission for the application.

The statement says: “ABC have, during the last 15 years, been against development on this site and refused permission, citing good, valid reasons for refusal.

“At no time during the past 15 or more years have we been in favour of development on this prominent field.

“The inspector has also been against permanent permission, giving temporary permission in part due to the children’s education requirements. He stated that this was not a site that should be given full planning permission.

“The children have grown up. We believe it would be perverse of ABC to now give full planning permission.

“Nothing has changed to make the site more acceptable. In fact, it is now in worse condition than when the inspector gave temporary planning permission. It is not appropriate to again issue temporary planning permission.

“We believe there is only one decision that can be made. That is to refuse the application.

“We further believe that your reasons need to be so cast iron that they stand up to the scrutiny of an inspector.”
