Family fun day signal to start festive countdown

The Snowman and the Snowdog will be the star guests at this year’s Festive Family Fun Day in Ashford town centre.
The event – on Saturday, November 26 – begins the town’s countdown to Christmas with a host of activities for families to enjoy.
And it culminates with the town centre gleaming as the Christmas lights are switched on.
The day was and idea suggested by Ashford traders and incorporates and supports local shops and businesses by bringing in residents and visitors for a full day of activities where they can enjoy what’s on offer, browse the shops and kick-start their Christmas shopping.
The town centre lights will be on each day from midday to midnight in the run-up to Christmas.
More information day will be revealed in the next few weeks, so make sure you keep an eye out for updates via loveashford.com, but for now here’s a teaser of what’s planned.
Families will be able to meet The Snowman and the Snowdog as they make personal appearances in the County Square shopping centre and the High Street at intervals between 10am and 5pm. So bring along your camera if you want to be photographed with them.
Revelation Ashford is organising a packed programme of music on the town centre bandstand throughout the day to add to the festive atmosphere.
Also look out for the stars from the Ashford Theatre’s pantomime, Beauty and the Beast.
Father Christmas will also be in town, with his temporary grotto located in the Park Mall shopping centre.

The event, which is being organised by Ashford Borough Council, is supported by Park Mall, County Square, kmfm, Ashford town centre businesses and developers Quinn Estates, Brett, and Stanhope.
