High achievers aiming to inspire next generation
Inspirational women from the worlds of business, sport and academia will be sharing their stories at Eastwell Manor.
The first Breakthrough Women event on Monday, November 14, aims to celebrate female success and raise the visibility of women in the workplace.
Three different role models will be heading to the Boughton Aluph hotel near Ashford to share their experiences.
Entrepreneur Penny Power OBE co-founded Ecademy, the country’s first social network for business, and set up the Digital Youth Academy.
Helen Glover MBE became British rowing’s first female Gold medallist at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Dr Patricia Lewis, from the Kent Business School at the University of Kent, works within gender and organisation studies, exploring identity, post-feminism and the masculine norm, in female entrepreneurs.
The event will be hosted by Deborah Turner, founder of You Image Consultancy who are co- hosting the event with Breakthrough Funding.
She said: “We were keen to invite real role models to speak, women to whom we can all relate and aspire to be like, even if in just a small way.
“They’ve achieved in ways many of us cannot even imag- ine, yet they also have to juggle the stresses that we all have.
“They are all über-passionate about what they do. We wanted passion from our speakers and these women have it in abundance!”
The business event will kick off at 10.30am with tea, coffee and biscuits before heading into the Rose Garden Room for the speakers’ talks at 11am.
There will also be a Q&A session followed by a two-course lunch.
Tickets are £25.91 and are available at www.eventbrite. co.uk
