Hospice walls turn into photo gallery

-

The walls of the Ashford Pilgrims Hospice have been brightened up with photographs of local landmarks.

Wendy Kelk, services manager at the Hythe Road, Willesborough, hospice put out a call for new local-interest scenes to hang in the corridors.

And photographs taken by residents and staff came flooding in from across the Ashford area.

The best were chosen for display and include seaside photographs and pictures of visitor attractions like the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway and the Kent & East Sussex Railway.

The photographs are now in place for everyone to enjoy.

Wendy Kelk said: “It’s been wonderful to see so many striking photographs of so many local beauty spots. We have some very talented photographers. Pictures were submitted by staff, volunteers and local camera clubs too.

“Thank you to everyone who has helped in getting the project together, whether taking the photographs, sourcing the frames or helping with the planning and mounting on our walls.

“The response from visitors and patients has been so positive, it’s reassuring to know that these small touches are helping with the wellbeing of all those we are caring for at Pilgrims.”

Among the photographers with work on display are Andy Smithy, James Willmott, Debbie Anderson and Kate Anson.
