- By Kristina Curtis

The boss of a Charing-based PR and marketing firm has taken on an unlikely role... as a getaway driver.

Simon Clubley, who runs The Wow Factory, joined one of Kent’s favourite couples on a hit Channel 4 programme in aid of Stand Up to Cancer.

Steph and Dom Parker, who rose to fame on Gogglebox due to their witty comments and love of a drink, appeared on a celebrity version of Hunted.

The programme sees contestants go on the run from real-life expert hunters, which include police officers, intelligence and army personnel.

The seven celebrities featured in the special episode have to last 14 days without being caught.

Mr Clubley, who is friends with the Parkers, said: “I played the role of the getaway driver for Steph and Dom, who are from Sandwich.

“They took the approach of hiding in full view – you can’t really imagine them hiding in a tent can you – and made sure they enjoyed themselves, and had a drink, whilst on the run.

“They originally wanted me to use my lime green Rolls Royce to drive them round in.”

Mr Clubley said that they started the challenge in Whitstable and stayed in Kent for the majority of the adventure.

The other celebrities taking part are Jamie Laing and Spencer Matthew’s from Made in Chelsea; Jay McGuiness and Siva Kaneswaran from boyband The Wanted, as well as television and radio presenter Anneka Rice.

The first episode was shown on Channel 4 on Tuesday, October 10, but you can still catch it ondemand.
