Police appeal for crash informatio­n

Police are appealing for informatio­n after a serious collision in Hamstreet.

It is believed that a silver Toyota Yaris, which was travelling in the direction of Kingsnorth, collided with a tree.

The driver, a man in his 20s from Ashford, was found with serious injuries.

He was taken to a London hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.

The collision, which took place at around 6am on Monday, November 20, led to the closure of Hamstreet Road, near Ashford, between the junction of Bromley Green Road and Capel Road.

The road was closed until 10.30am as emergency services attended the scene, before a collision investigat­ion as well as recovery work took place.

The police said: “We attended a report of a serious collision in Hamstreet Road, Ashford. Officers and paramedics were called to the scene at 5.47am.

“A man sustained injuries and was taken to a London hospital.”

The Serious Collision Investigat­ion Unit has not yet been able to establish the exact time of the collision, and is appealing for anyone with informatio­n, who may have seen something during the early hours of Monday, to get in touch.
