Couple’s carvery raises £3,000

-

Diners enjoyed a Sunday carvery to raise thousands of pounds for charity.

It was organised by Gary and Maz Kirton at the London Beach Hotel in Tenterden, and guests enjoyed the food, stand up bingo, and raffle.

Money from the food bill was donated by the hotel to the couple’s London Marathon fundraising pot.

Mr Kirton said 90 guests were there. He said : “The staff and organisation was just perfect. Everyone went away very happy.

“This event has kick-started our fundraising for Hospice UK. We are running our first marathon in April. Training is going really well and we’ve already covered plenty of miles.”

They have a fundraising target of £5,000 and say they are now well on the way to achieving their goal.

The couple have regularly hosted charity events including golf days and celebrity event nights.

They work in hospices and say they know how important they can be to those with life threatening illnesses and their families.

The carvery raised £3,000 towards their funds, and now they are looking forward to organising a ladies’ day race night in early March.

Any companies that wish to sponsor it are being welcomed to contact Mr Kirton.
