At the Kent Junior School Cross Country Championsh­ips, A&D junior Tom Green picked up his first county medal at the weekend, finishing second overall in the Year 5 category. He completed the 2.2k course at the Detling showground in 8.34, which automatica­lly qualifies him for selection for Kent in the national championsh­ips in March. Scott Lynch finished first for the club in the Ashford parkrun and seventh overall in 19.39, with Keith Haynes just over a minute behind, finishing 12th in 20.41. Jon Wells crossed the line in 21.06 to finish 17th, with Ricky Hickman smashing his personal best at the distance in 21.18. Pat Butler completed the top 20, finishing in 21.44. Filiz Salih was first lady home for the club and in doing so achieved a PB of 21.55 in 25th place. James Chapman finished just behind in 26th in a time of 2.01, while Stuart Nunn and Mark Harrison raced neck and neck in 22.10 (29th) and 22.12 (30th) respective­ly.
