Lolzors join cup hopefuls
ASHFORD SUNDAY LEAGUE: DIVISION 1 SIDE PROGRESS WITH FIVE OTHER CLUBS IN COUNTY COMPETITIONS Kent Sun Junior Cup
Lolzors ensured their march towards county cup success goes on until at least the new year.
The Division 1 side beat East Malling Reserves – at the same level in the Maidstone & Mid Kent Sunday League – 3-1 in their rescheduled clash.
The Pumas have booked their place in the countywide last-16 draw alongside Ashford Cavaliers and AFC Ashford Athletic, taking the number of Ashford teams to qualify for the first round proper of the three county cup competitions to six – the highest number for more than 15 years.
Top scorer Steve Fuller netted twice for Lolzors, while Brad Freund hit the third goal.
Lolzors now await the draw for the next round which will take place in the first week of December. Lamb, two own goals and one each from Chris Button and Paul Read. Galacticos scored through Lee Dehara (2).
Willesborough Athletic were held to a 2-2 draw at South Willesborough. Andy Crouch hit a double for the Millers but South Willesborough fought back with goals from Mike Norris and Cieran Kelly.
Aldington earned their first league victory – a 7-4 away win at Master Brewer. The visitors scored through Alex Williams, Dan Rose (2), Kevin Ruane (2), Matt Beasley and George Argar.
At the bottom, Ashford Cavaliers Reserves also recorded their first victory as they beat Mersham Reserves 2-1 with goals from Matt Moon and Jake Hayward-Browne. Mersham replied through Jon Duke.
