Grooming-sting man charged
A 40-year-old man has been charged with grooming after a confrontation involving a vigilante group.
Ronnie Argle, from Kingsnorth, was arrested by police following the incident last Thursday night, in which he was approached and questioned, while being videoed by two women from a group of so-called ‘paedophile hunters’. The exchange was posted online.
Argle has been charged with three counts of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child, and appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court, via video link, last Friday. The police said: “Ronnie Argle remains in custody and inquiries are ongoing.”
Argle is due to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on Friday, December 22.
