Vic Reeves and ponies at the fair

Prepa­ra­tions are well un­der way for the Christmas fair be­ing held in the Mar­ket Place in Char­ing to­mor­row (Fri­day).

Start­ing at 5pm, the it is be­ing opened by vil­lage res­i­dents Vic Reeves, his wife Nancy Sor­rell and their twin daugh­ters.

Ber­tie and Mac, two Shet­land ponies, are stand­ing in for Ru­dolph as they will be es­cort­ing Fa­ther Christmas and Mrs Christmas.

The shops in Char­ing high street will stay open late and there will also be a chil­dren’s round­about, a grand draw, a tom­bola and plenty of hot food and drinks on of­fer.

Christmas songs and car­ols will be per­formed by Faver­sham Mission Brass and chil­dren are en­cour­aged to leave their let­ters for Fa­ther Christmas at the Post Of­fice as they walk past.

The fair will fin­ish at 8pm.
