Caretaker trophy winner for school
The Premier League trophy made a rare appearance at at Kingsnorth Primary School in Church Hill on Friday, after a football-mad caretaker won a competition.
Children were able to have their photo taken with the silverware, which was lifted by Chelsea for the fifth time last season.
Pupils were not allowed to touch the trophy, but did take part in PE sessions led by coaches from Tottenham Hotspur
The school’s Kat McNeil said: “It was the proper, priceless one. We thought it would be a replica, but it was the real thing and it was brought in by bodyguards at about 7.30am.
“Our caretaker, Richard Everett, entered a competition to get it here and we were one of only 20 schools in the country to get the chance to see it.
“It took a long time for every class to have their photo with it as we have 428 children, but it was a great morning and the children were allowed to wear their football kits.”
