Bags help wellbeing of youngsters
Ashford-based charity CXK is appealing to residents and businesses to donate to its Wellbeing Bags scheme this Christmas, which aims to support more than 2,000 children and young people in managing their emotional wellbeing.
The Wellbeing Bags initiative forms an important part of the charity’s Emotional Wellbeing counselling service, which to date has delivered over 8,300 counselling sessions to children and young people aged 5-19 across Kent.
The bags contain a selection of tools a child can use to manage their emotional wellbeing.
Each bag is personalised specifically for the needs of each child, with items ranging from Playdough, soft toys, fidget toys and sensory balls through to colouring books, loom bands and balloons.
In the past year, 500 Wellbeing Bags were distributed, and the charity aims to distribute a further 2,000 bags in 2018.
