Ar­rests af­ter man in his 20s ‘stabbed in the street’

Three peo­ple have been ar­rested af­ter a man was al­legedly stabbed in the street.

The at­tack hap­pened at about 1.30am in Can­ter­bury Road in Willes­bor­ough af­ter a fight in the road which is un­der­stood to have spilled out from a New Year’s party.

Po­lice taped off the area on Tues­day morn­ing and of­fi­cers could be seen with ev­i­dence bags at the scene.

An am­bu­lance ser­vice spokesman said the vic­tim - who was in his 20s - suf­fered mul­ti­ple stab wounds and re­mains in a sta­ble con­di­tion in hos­pi­tal.

The at­tack hap­pened in Can­ter­bury Road close to the junc­tion with Mead Road.

The air am­bu­lance was called at 2am, but the vic­tim was taken to the King’s Col­lege Hos­pi­tal in Lon­don by road.

A 21-year-old woman and a man aged 25 from Ash­ford were ar­rested in con­nec­tion with the as­sault on Tues­day.

They have sub­se­quently been re­leased pend­ing fur­ther in­ves­ti­ga­tion.

A man aged 22 - who is also from the town - was ar­rested yes­ter­day (Wed­nes­day) and re­mains in po­lice cus­tody.
