Hospice tree collection makes return

-

Hospice staff will be collecting scores of Christmas trees from across the borough for recycling this weekend.

Residents who have made donations in return for their tree to be collected and recycled will be helping to provide vital care within the community and at the hospice in Ashford.

With more than 1,000 trees to collect on Saturday, charity chiefs say the fundraising drive continues to go from strength to strength.

Last year, £18,000 was raised for hospice care in east Kent.

Fundraising manager Kate Duddell said: “We are delighted that so many people choose to support our tree recycling campaign.

“We send a huge thank you to the local community and everyone involved in our tree collections; from start to finish, volunteers have tagged trees before sale and generally supported the project in every way possible.

“We hope we can make this another recording-breaking year.”
