CYCLING: 2018 CHAMPIONS TAKE CENTRE STAGE

Ashford Wheelers held their annual prize presentation evening at Chimneys just before Christmas. Champions for 2018: Andy Branson: Low Gear 10 mile Time Trial; Lee Buckman: 30 mile Time Trial, 25 mile Time Trial, Evening 10 mile Time Trial Points, Evening 25 mile Time Trial, Short Distance BAR, Short Distance BAR Handicap (tie with Dave Hampton). Lesley Newman: 30 Mile Time Trial Handicap; Dave Hampton: 50 mile Time Trial, 50 mile Time Trial Handicap, Fastest 100 mile Time Trial, 25/50/100 mile BAR, Short Distance BAR Handicap (tie with Lee Buckman). Sam Robinson: Fastest 25 mile Time Trial; Andy Robinson: 25 mile Time Trial Handicap, Vets Age Standard BAR 25/50/100 Miles,Vets Evening 10 mile Time Trial Age Standard; Rob Sparks: Evening 10 mile Time Trial Handicap Points; Adam Skitt: Hill Climb.

Three riders from Ashford Wheelers competed in the Southborough Wheelers New Year’s Day 10 mile time trial. First home was Adam Skitt (37th) in 25min 41sec, followed by Jon Collidge 26.03 (41st) and Oli Webb 29.25 (53rd). It was Webb’s first open time trial.
