Pop, rock and soul in festival line-up

The full line-up for this year’s Create Festival in Ashford has been revealed.

More than 40 live acts will perform over four stages at the free party in the park on Saturday, July 20.

Britpop band The Lightning Seeds - most famous for football anthem Three Lions - were announced as the headliner in March this year.

The group has played at some of the UK’s biggest festivals, including a stint on Glastonbur­y’s legendary Pyramid Stage in 2010.

And now, the other bands, DJs and groups scheduled to perform have been unveiled.

Acts due to play on the Main Stage include Cooper Stout, a singer songwriter from Bethersden who appeared on CBBC’s talent show Got What It Takes?, four piece rock band The Maywaves and soul band The Unblessed.

North America, Armada of Secrets and Fennie will also play.

The line-up for the Revelation Stage includes The Fontanas, Estelle Mey, Tokyo Tea Room, Thomas Ashby and Jack and Jacob.

DJs include Shades of Bray, Folly, DJ Rev and Nautik b2b Yeti.

School children from Ashford Oaks Community Choir will join Ashford Rocks Choir and the Waynard Harmonies on the Community Stage.

There will also be an outdoor theatre and craft zones, as well as food and drink stalls, at the festival held in the town’s Victoria Park.

This year marks the 24th year of the free music festival; 2018’s event was the biggest to date, drawing more than 12,000 revellers.
