St Lawrence get up and running

St Lawrence & Highland Court beat Tenterden by 161 runs to pick up their first win of the campaign.

Having been put in to bat, they reached 251-9 thanks to half-centuries from Matthew Hammond (53), Harry Wren (58) and Will Hilton (52).

Tenterden’s chase never quite materialis­ed, with an unbeaten top score of just 24 from Luke Mangold, four ducks and four other single-digit scores seeing them bowled out for 90.

Freddie Hulbert picked up 5-20 and four maidens in Linden Park’s 117-run win over Broadstair­s.

Top scores from Graeme Francis (61) and Hulbert (40) were assisted by three other scores of 20 and above in seeing Park put up 232-8 from their innings.

Hulbert then tore through Broadstair­s’ batting line-up, which offered four scores of one, two other single-digit scores and a team-high knock of 43 from Alex Hogben before being bowled out for 115.

Hosts Hayes beat Holmesdale by one wicket following an unbeaten 95 from Jamie Askew.

Choosing to bat first, the visitors were dismissed for 197 after being led by Daniel Brabham (40) and Nick Miller (41).

Askew, Connor Byrne (20) and Stuart Eddicott (27) then made up for eight single-digit performanc­es in a reply of 201-9 from 49 overs.

Jack Kirby registered 5- 28 in Bromley Common’s seven-wicket victory over Upchurch.

The hosts could only manage 118 before being bowled out in 34.4 overs, with David Masters leading his side on 33 in light of Kirby’s efforts.

Toby Finzel (27) and Gamindu Kanishka (27 not out) then top scored in response as Common responded with 119-3 to seal the win in 31.1 overs.

Sam Smith stuck 103 from 122 balls as Bromley beat Folkestone by 156 runs.

Bromley complement­ed Smith with useful knocks from Freddie Wilson (56) and Yasir Arafat (44) to post 281-7, with Jarred Lysaught picking up 4-65.

Pip France then produced 4-16 to help limit Folkestone to 125 following a top score of just 22 from Alistair Stewart.

Bromley lead second-placed Hayes at the top by a single point on 46, followed by Bromley Common in third with 42.

Below them sit St Lawrence & Highland Court in fourth with 40 points, Linden Park in fifth with 39, Folkestone in sixth with 34, Holmesdale in seventh with 29 and Tenterden in eighth with 26.

Broadstair­s ( 24 points) and Upchurch (14) make up the bottom two.
