Kent Regional League

-

Leaders Willesborough were at their clinical best against Ramsgate Corinthian, winning by eight wickets with 20 overs to spare in 2A East on Saturday.

Dave Taylor took 3-39 in Ramsgate’s 153-7, before the Willesborough batsmen wasted no time in finishing the game off. Vishal Sajikumar was particularly brutal, smashing six sixes and eight fours in his 81 that took just 35 balls. Adam Sattaur’s 51 was more sedate, coming from 49 balls. In the same division, five Kennington batsmen got into double figures, but with a top score of just 27 no one was able to go on and make a meaningful contribution.

An all out total of 106 proved insufficient as Littlebourne got home in 23.4 overs for a sevenwicket win.

Wye’s bowlers shared out the wickets between them in a five-wicket win against

Old Williamsonians in Championship East. Ian Lewis, James Watson and Keith Secrett each picked up two wickets each, as the Medway side reached 152-9 from their 40 overs.

Lewis was by far the most economical bowler, returning figures of 2-11 from his 10 overs. Alec Watson was the fourth wicket taker, finishing with figures of 3-41. He then opened the batting and led the Wye reply with a knock of 59, while No.5 William Elgar added 41 as the home side secured the win with just over five overs to spare.

In the same division, Alan Stevens (60 not out) guided Mersham Sports to a six-wicket win against Headcorn.

Earlier the same player had taken 3-24 as Headcorn finished on 178-7.

Jackson Clark (56) and Craig Mannering (60) shared a third-wicket stand of 106 as Boughton & Eastwell came away from Worth with a seven-wicket win in 1A East. Mannering had earlier taken 3-43 as the hosts were bowled out for 154.

Tenterden 3rds edged to a three-wicket win against Hythe Green with just an over to spare in 1B East. James Perkins and David Goddard bagged three wickets each as the hosts were bowled out for 139.

Gary Wollett hit seven fours and a six in his 49, and Felix Wilding guided Tenterden home with 31 not out.
