East Germany is coming to Ashford

The development on the former Prince Albert pub site in Ashford is the most ugly building I have ever seen.

It is reminiscent of what the communists built in East Germany. Secondly, the news that the council has again with our money purchased the County Square car park, I think that council leader Gerry Clarkson now sees himself as property developer - he should concentrate on the day job.

The grandiose plans to regenerate the town centre are laughable considering it was destroyed by previous Tory councils, starting by moving the market - which generated so much footfall - out to town and promoting so much out- oftown shopping developments. They have destroyed a once thriving market town.
