Question over role of police in pandemic
There was a report of a mothers’ anger that her daughter - who attends and lives at university - was about to take a shower in her private room, when she was disturbed by two police officers wishing to caution and interview her concerning a party that allegedly she had attended some eight days before.
The interview was evidently carried out by the two officers, gender unknown, whilst she remained only dressed in her night attire. On completion of the interview she was warned that she was facing prosecution and further that the university would be informed of her attendance at the event, I would guess with consequential negative effect.
I do not in any way endorse the actions in this pandemic of any party in these allegations but it poses a question.
According to the Oxford English Dictionary, police are an official body of people employed by a state to prevent and solve crime and keep public order.
A Police State differs; it is where police are required by the govemment to keep secret watch over and control citizens’ activities.
I question which state dogma we are being led away from, or inextricably veered toward.
