Festive cheer at Tenterden
The ladies of Tenterden Golf Club, festively dressed for the occasion, played their Christmas Texas Scramble last week.
The first of the 50-strong field teed off just after dawn and, despite the clubhouse closure, the ladies enjoyed a takeaway service at the halfway house. Hot sausage or bacon baps, mince pies and hot drinks were available and for some who needed it, something stronger.
The winners with a score of 65.6 were Maggie Bates, Mimi Anderson and Hilary Thomas.
In second place with 67.6 were Marilyn Thorpe, Fiona Murch and Betty Jeffery, followed by Jane Mercer, Susie Gottelier and Penny Stephens in third spot with 68.1.
