Rotary’s Christmas donations

-

An Ashford-based charity group has started handing donations following a successful silent auction.

The Ashford Rotary Club has presented a cheque for £2,500 to Ashford Home-Start - half of the proceeds of its recent auction and donations, with the other half soon being given to the Pilgrims Hospice.

The club has also acquired toys from the Bluewater shopping centre’s Giving Tree, with the items having been distributed to Repton Community Trust, Vineyard Church, Padua ward at the William Harvey Hospital and Home-Start.

Rotary Club president Lester Kennedy said: “Rotary Club members hope that the money and the toys will bring some joy and happiness this Christmas and the New Year.

“We sincerely thank all those who contributed, and enabled us to share the gifts at this difficult time.”
