Schools trust shines in contest
A team from the Tenterden Schools Trust made it to the final round of science contest the Bright Spark Awards 2020.
Organisations judging the youngsters’ entry were Pfizer – whose Covid-19 vaccine in collaboration with BioNTech began its UK roll-out earlier this month – along with Kent Renewable Energy, Integrated Technologies Ltd, Discovery Park, BAE Systems Rochester, Global Associates, Megger, Golding Homes, and EDF Energy.
Students from Homewood School, Tenterden CofE Juniors and St Michaels CofE Primary collaborated on an investigation linking biodiversity and wellbeing.
They worked with Just the
Ticket Memory Café to design a ‘chill out’ area to assist health and happiness in people with dementia.
Despite missing out on the overall champion prize, the students were praised by the judges and awarded iTunes vouchers.
The 2021 contest will be open to entry soon at kmcharityteam. co.uk
