Networking club has eye on the ball

-

A fledgling networking club is vowing to give back to the local community by donating a share of all membership payments to grassroots sports clubs and charities.

Set up in Gillingham, The Sports Business Club says it has already signed up more than 100 members and offers the opportunity to network across a diverse range of industries and sectors.

And the benefit for members is that 20% of their annual fees will be sent to the non-professional team or

club of their choice – alternatively they can nominate a charity.

Explains founder David

Jueno, who was an estate agent in the county before setting up the club: “We probably have about 60% of members from Kent or London so far and we’re not just appealing to businesses around sport – anyone can join.

“But the benefit is that by joining we’re giving something back to local sports within our members’ communities.

“We’ve donated money to football, cricket, hockey and golf clubs so far.”
