Will Ovenden is following in the footsteps of his father and older brother after it was announced he would join the MSUK Junior Rallycross Championship.

The 14-year-old is the youngest son of Canterbury’s triple Supernational champion and Supercar front-runner Tristan

Ovenden. He honed his skills in karting and is now set to drive the 1.Litre Swift of older brother Tom.

Lydden Hill stages the opening races of the championship at the end of May over the Bank Holiday weekend and will return for the season finale on November 6-7.

Will began his racing career in schoolboy Motocross at the age of six, competing at Kent circuits Bayford Meadows and Buckmore Park. He clinched the

Junior Corporate Kart Championship in 2018 and then moved into Junior Saloon Autograss racing. He said: “I’ve been around the rallycross circuit for 10 years or more with my dad and brother and have always enjoyed the close racing and the family-feel to the sport. “After so long on the sidelines, I’m really looking forward to actually racing in rallycross.”
