Kent’s Joe Denly again got the better of county captain Sam Billings in the BBL on Sunday – despite making a five-ball duck.

Denly opened for Brisbane Heat as they knocked out Sydney Thunder, who had Billings in their line-up, after a seven-wicket win.

Billings made a 24-ball 34 as Sydney posted 158-8 in their 20 overs. Denly opened the innings in Heat’s reply but was bowled without scoring. However, an unbeaten 74 from Sam Heazlett saw his side progress to Thursday’s clash with Perth Scorchers, where the winners will earn a place in the final.
