It is always nice to hear that a local angler has been rewarded for his efforts in the sport and at the moment any good news is very welcome!

St Mary’s Bay sea angler Dave Wood-Brignall, who is the holder of the shore caught halibut record at 163lbs and also the redfish record, has been contracted to tackle giant Shimano. Sponsorship in our sport is very tough to secure and this is one of the best! Wood-Brignall is an angling guide in Norway and hopes to beat his own records this year.

Let us all hope that travel restrictions are eased and we can all enjoy our sport in the year to come.
